We don’t just sell art, we distribute the culture of the resistance. From art and memorabilia that celebrate Bitcoin, other freedom technologies, and freedom fighters to sovereign streetwear. Our mission is to support freedom fighters and their causes.

We utilize Bitcoin as our settlement layer to ensure that sellers and the freedom movements we support receive maximum value. By settling on the hardest money ever created, we ensure donations and earnings cannot be frozen, seized, or censored by traditional banking rails.

Our infrastructure creates a marketplace that is:

• Trust-Minimized: Collateralized bidding ensures participants keep their word without the need for intrusive personal data.

We empower sellers to directly fuel the resistance by offering the option to donate a percentage of their proceeds to vetted partners, such as the Human Rights Foundation, OpenSats, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. To ensure these funds have maximum impact, Scarce City takes zero fees on the donated portion of any sale. We only apply our platform fee to the remaining earnings.

HOW IT WORKS

Hybrid On-Ramps, Hard Money Settlement.

We believe in meeting the market where it is. While all sellers receive their proceeds in Bitcoin, buyers have the flexibility to pay via Bitcoin (On-chain/Lightning) or Fiat (PayPal/Credit Card). The end result is more value leaving the fiat system.

Collateralized Bidding To keep our auctions fair and prevent spam without invading your privacy, we require bidders to verify their intent to unlock bidding privileges. You can choose your method:

1. Bitcoin Deposit: Deposit a small % of your bid in Bitcoin or Lightning or deposit 500K sats for unlimited bidding (required amount may be greater for select auctions - verify on the auction page).
2. Reputation Signal: Link your X (Twitter) account (2+ years old, 1K+ followers) to unlock unlimited bidding instantly.
3. Fiat Hold: Place a temporary hold on your Credit Card via PayPal.

Note: All deposits/holds are fully refundable/released if you do not win the auction or pay your winning bid.

The Hot Zone Rule Sniper bots don’t work here. Any bid placed in the final 5 minutes resets the auction clock to 5 minutes.

Our in-house label, SCⱯRCE, produces standard-issue gear for the sovereign individual, from anti-surveillance gear to clothes that celebrate freedom fighters.

THE ARCHITECTS

Scarce City was founded by Chris Tramount and Aryan Jabbari, driven by the belief that Bitcoin is the base layer for a new civilization in which personal liberties are respected.

The project was seeded by honorary founder Chiefmonkey, who architected the original Bitcoin-based auction mechanism and cultivated our original community of Bitcoin artists.
