The third picture by the Crypsi collective (the first made for sale, with their first two pictures ‘Too Big To Jail’ and ‘Tweet Me’ designed for promotional purposes), released in 2014, Adopt Now is an iconic image and picture, a call to arms, designed to promote and spread ‘the word’ of bitcoin at a time where many considered bitcoin ‘dead’ following the Mt Gox collapse.

Adopt Now illustrates the religious fervour bitcoin inspires in many bitcoin fanatics - once you go down the rabbit hole, there is no going back… The difference with bitcoin maximalism is the fervour is not misplaced, used to enslave, nor used to justify wars or divisions in society. Bitcoin is apolitical, code does not discriminate, or care about anyone’s personal beliefs. The more people that ‘Adopt Now’ the brighter the future of mankind will be.

Adopt Now was created before most of the world had heard of bitcoin, or cryptoart and predates almost any form of cryptoart.

The picture is number 2 out of an edition of 5, spray painted on canvas using a stencil, with numbers 3, 4 & 5 in the private hands of early bitcoiners (the Crypsi collective retain number 1 editions of all pictures in the hope of opening a museum one day to continue their quest to promote bitcoin).
