Eternal Rose: Swamp is one of a pentych of five Eternal Rose pieces inscribed to Ordinals, each on a different landscape background. Mankind derived these pieces from his works in a 2022 performance-art collaboration with Notsofast, wherein a valuable vintage Black Lotus physical game card was destroyed to become memorialized as NFTs on Ethereum. The corporate holder of the Black Lotus intellectual property took legal issue with the art, and rather than dox to fight in court, the creators chose to replace their original images with that of the white Eternal Rose.
