The renowned painting depicts him with a gold pot, where he collects the tears from his eyes. These are not drops of sorrow, but of joy and illumination. They symbolize the priceless essence of frogs, whose tears are so precious and rare that they must be treated as jewels. It is said that the drops of Pepevarius’ tears grant life-giving power to the eye on the pot, which is always in search of new memes. Ksenia Buridanova is a surrealist artist who works with oil paints; she combines the technique of old masters with exploration of new visual forms.
