Proof of Keys is composed of 304 used bank deposit box keys and dozens of bank key fobs/rings.

The keys were sourced from bank foreclosures and the fobs were found online and at swap meets. Some of the keys were spray painted and others treated with salt, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide to enhance their rust and patina.

To form the ₿, many of the keys were cut with a scroll saw, tin snips and a grinder.

The wood panel was sanded, coated with gesso, acrylic paint, and topped with a satin varnish.

The keys were attached to the panel with a high strength cyanoacrylate adhesive.

Proof of Keys is encased in Optium Acrylic Glazing acrylic - a virtually invisible, double-sided anti-reflective coating used by museums around the world. Optium reduces light reflection to less than 1.6% while providing 99% UV protection.

Resting on the bottom of the Optium enclosure is a cryptograffiti key ring. Who knows what the keys might unlock...
