For the first time the scientists at the Rare Pepe Lab set a rule for a series of the collection -- for Series 16 only hand-made physical Rare Pepes would be accepted.

I submitted a fairly ugly 3D effect pencil drawn Pepe to Mike and he was a bit perplexed. I told him not to worry, that I didn't really like it either. Rekted & rejected.

The deadline was close so I started looking around my room in search for inspiration and there it is, the print of Basquiat's masterpiece "Trumpet" that I bought some month earlier at his exhibition. I instantly began to paint it, adding in the end the "Famous Certified Rare" tag and the REEEEE sound of the trumpet. It was an instant hit, and at the time even the multi millionaire VC Fred Wilson bought it and wrote a post about it in his AVC blog.

Former DJ and producer, turned photographer with a strong passion for everything art. In late 2013 I stumbled upon Bitcoin and was sucked into the crypto blackhole. After buying the top of complacency and ending up completely rekt like most in 2014, I hibernated until 2016 when the market showed some sign of life again.
