This stunning coin was produced by Casascius as a commemorative coin for the St.Petersburg Bitcoin Bowl college football game which was held on December 26, 2014 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. This game was sponsored by crypto payment processor BitPay.

Originally there were 2000 coins minted, but due to production issues only 850 coins were left for sales and the others melted down.
