"Kiss me", said the Frog, "And all your models will come true"

In this lighthearted watercolor, I’m placing my character of Cornita in a fairy tale setting.

The theme of the princess and the frog came to mind.

It made me think of the idea that some see value where others see nothing.
It made me think of the importance of trusting gut instinct and following things that might look absurd to outsiders. It made me think that humble beginnings can change and turn into noble endings. And when the princess decides to kiss the frog, it might turn out to be the best thing she’s ever done.

And of course, the prince frog is a wink and a nod to the Pepes.

To evoke this atmosphere, I used techniques inspired by the repertoire of golden age illustrators like Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac, executing the artwork in watercolor, ink and gouache. The gold comes from Manetti, a historical foundry in Florence, Italy. It shimmers beautifully.

Cornita is how I imagine the personification of the Bitcoin spirit. I loved seeing her interacting with the frog prince. I have a feeling that for these two this is the beginning of many playful stories to come.
