Nakamoto #1/100 is from my 2014 portrait of Dorian Nakamoto. The aqueous pigment fine art, semi-gloss archival rag print is signed and numbered with actual credit card fragments. This edition as well as #2-21 of 100 are also signed by Dorian.
The print ships in a matte black aluminum frame with 99% UV protected, anti-glare masterpiece acrylic. The remaining Nakamoto prints have sold out.
About the artwork:
When I first learned of Dorian being falsely outed by Newsweek, I reached out offering to auction a portrait on his behalf. To me, his situation was a good representation of Bitcoin itself - a humble pleb doing battle against ill-intentioned institutions. Dorian became an honorary bitcoiner after ingratiating himself with many in the space and then became a bonafide bitcoiner due to various fundraisers initiated on his behalf.
The original was created using repurposed credit cards which became a theme in my early work. Nakamoto was one of my first intricate, fine art pieces relating to Bitcoin. It was auctioned with 100% of the proceeds going to Dorian. 50% of the proceeds of this piece will go to him as well.
